PACRA Maintains Stability Rating of JS Islamic Income Fund
|Rating Type||Stability Rating|
JS Islamic Income Fund (or the "Fund") is a medium risk profile fund. The investment policy holds that the Fund will invest in Shariah Compliant Authorized Investments only. At the end of Dec'21, the total cash balances consisted of ~34% of the fund's net assets. The cash is invested in primarily 'A' and 'AA-' rated banks. Moreover, the Fund had invested ~64% of net assets in Sukuks primarily rated 'AA' and above. The Sukuk portfolio includes ~27% allocation in GoP Ijara Sukuks. The Weighted Average Maturity was recorded at ~3 years as of end-Dec'21. The Fund's WAM is on higher side due to investment in high-tenor Sukuks. The average duration of the Fund was reported at 58 days at end-Dec'21, which indicates that the Fund has adequately capacity to manage interest rate risk. The top 10 investors possess a concentration of ~85% in the Fund's total assets, which may expose the Fund to high redemption pressure.
Going forward, the Fund may improve its unit holding pattern. Material changes in the Fund's asset allocation strategy, impacting its credit quality and/or exposure to interest rate risk, would affect the rating.
